Fatal Fever: Tracking Down Typhoid Mary by Gail Jarrow

fatalInterested in medical mysteries? Fatal Fever: Tracking Down Typhoid Mary by Gail Jarrow is the story of a woman who was identified in the early 1900’s, as a carrier of the deadly disease, typhoid. Mary Mallon worked as a cook and  unknowingly exposed thousands of people to this disease.  When officials tracked her down, she refused to cooperate and became known as Typhoid Mary in the press. It’s very interesting to see how disease and ideas of hygiene have changed over the years.
